I turn 30 and as such I promised to treat myself to a proper car. But being a serial car shopper I have zero clue of what it will be. Having just bought a supercharged MX5 i'm aiming to get trackdays out of my system then buy something a little more GT car. We'll see!

A car port next to my garage to stop my MX5 rusting away and getting my full bike licence is the plan.

Try not to crash and die, usually a priority

Hopefully holding on to the Alfa now for a bit

Also, getting hold of something for the summer that shouldn't cost too much to run. Possibly a Mk3 MR2 Mx5, or a 986 Boxster, but that might breach my 'won't cost much to run' brief

I paid a deposit for a 4pot Lotus Emira in June 21, so 2023 may be a little optimistic.

Many more trackdays in the MR2, ticked off Blyton, Bedford and Curborough in 2022. Had booked to head out to Donnington last week however a nasty flu ruined that idea.

Also need to get the body roll under control! So a set of decent coilovers and ARB's are on the cards in the spring

I need a Shed.

Thinking along the lines of a Berlingo/Partner/Daihatsu.

Similar for me. After a year or so of doing little modifications to the car, I'm pretty much finished. There are a couple more things I'd like to do in 2023, but my plans are mainly to do more track days and keep learning the car. I'd like to try at least one circuit that I haven't done before (maybe Oulton Park), but most places are a bit of a trek for me.

Just booking our next trip to France in May 2023 May 21st to June 10th ferry booked Hull to Rotterdam just have 10 hotels to book and all must have safe and secure parking for our classic car. Had a great 2 week trip in September to D-Day beaches and a car show in Rouen first for nearly 3 years.

I have a recurring dream where I've bought a daihatsu sirion rally and have to keep it a secret from my wife.

Plans for next year? Get to Donington park, Oulton and Anglesey.
Plus deal with oil leaks and rust on the clio and legacy.

Be f***ed if I know!

I was down for an Emira, an I4 which Lotus told me would be delivered in September 23. After driving the V6 and being really disappointed I cancelled and now a little stumped.

In the interim I bought a Caterham R300 in the expectation of selling both that and my daily drive to fund the Emira.
I've not used it anywhere near as much as I would have like due to poor weather coinciding with when I have free time.

I scrapped my Charade in 2020. Since HubNut got one, they've become quite cult and supplies of decent ones have dried up.

Hopefully finish my 80” series 1 Land Rover.
I’ve got most of the parts I need.
Just time to put the bits together that I can.
Plus funds to pay a garage to sort the bits I can’t.

Also need to get dvla to change it from a plg to a historic car for the ved.

It's all a bit up in the air for me, and is a case of seeing what arrives and when.

When I get back from Portugal in January the Portofino will go away in a garage to keep the miles down, and I'll drive the R129 SL as my daily.

The Portofino will go up for sale late Spring, it has warranty until March '24 and Service plan till March '27, so will be an ideal time for it to go while it still has main dealer backup.

The Emira I had on order for August/Sept 2023 has been delayed until Q2 2024 build, and I'm on the verge of cancelling it and taking my deposit back. I have ordered an S650 Mustang Dark Horse, but unknown at present when that will turn up, hopefully before autumn 23, and I will drive that down to Portugal next winter.

I'm going to thin down the classics a bit... The Shadow II will go in for a service and MOT when I get back, and then go up for sale, likewise the Stag in the Spring. I've had that car (Stag) 11 years next year, but I just don't drive it enough any more, so time for it to go to a new home. The RSP Mini also needs to go up for sale for the same reason.

The new Artura looks interesting, and is something I will look at keenly when I'm back in January... although I might wait and pick up a one year old one in Spring 24...

We'll see.

Plans;
360 will be up for sale imminently and I think maybe the Evo will go too to make a McLaren happen, driven a 12C and liked it but want to try a 650S & 570S so will see where that goes smile
