Lease / MOT / servicing query
Discussion
I picked up a Renaultsport Megane in early December 2020 on a 3yr lease.
I had it serviced on a shameful 4K miles in Jan 2022 having been out of the country for 5 months so earliest possible opportunity.
This was an oil/filter change at main dealer.
Dropped car off today for its second service and the price was double last year at the same garage.
It transpires I was under charged last year and also ‘B’ serviced as opposed to a fixed service for the RS.
The only difference being the cabin filter change.
Where it gets interesting is that my car is showing as being registered in Sep 2020 - three months before I took lease ownership.
This means my MOT is now due in Sep this year and my car is outside by about 4 months of its schedule “this could effect warranty claims”.
I’ll phone lease company today but interested if anyone has any thoughts on this?

If I understand correctly, can't you just get the next service done in September, along with the MOT?

This is the important bit.The question is, would they honour the warranty if it was a month outside of schedule as you thought? If so then potentially you have a case to say that the lease co/dealer should've made you aware. Otherwise no.
