This might be of use if you drive a pre 2005 (i.e. re EURO 4) petrol car and you're worried about ULEZ.

First thing to be aware of is for petrol cars, it's NOx emissions that matter. Nothing else.
The limit is 80mg/km.

It doesn't matter if your car is EURO 3, 2 or 1. If it emits less than 80mp/km of NOx and you can prove it then it's compliant.

The way you do this is to write to your car manufacturer and ask for the Certificate of Conformity. Assuming they've not lost it, they should provide it for free and it should contain a NOx value for your car.

You then send this to TFL to register your car as compliant.

I've just been through this process with a MY 2000 Range Rover V8 4.0. My CoC says it emits 51mg/km. I sent the evidence to TFL.
My car is now thankfully compliant.

Hope this helps.

Interesting. Is the certificate on a model basis or an individual VIN number? Do you have a contact for who you asked as Land Rover and was there form to complete for the ULEZ?

You can email jagcrc@jaguarlandrover.com
It's on an individual car basis. There is a form and LR will email it to you.

Good info.

As a further use for that CofC, it can also be used when applying for the French crit'air badge if your car is less polluting than the age/Euro category would suggest. I got a C'A for my old E-class and it's one category worse than it should be because our V5s for cars from then didn't have the relevant information for the French authorities to correctly assign a category.

From Fords when I enquired.

"For Cars we can only supply a Certificate of Conformity for Vehicles built after 1997."

Some twenty year old cars are complaint - my 2002 Z3 2.2i Sport is clear to enter according to TFL. My son's B7 RS4 2006 model registered is okay too.

That's annoying as I suspect most petrol cars built after 1993 are probably ULEZ compliant

Emailed BMW about my JDM 2002 E39 525i about 6 weeks ago never heard anything back.

Sounds like they don’t have any records on non UK cars though from what I’ve read
