I’m looking at purchasing uprated springs for my Sprinter camper van.

Cost in the US is

Subtotal: $485
Worldwide Expedited Shipping cost (UPS): $186
Total: $671

I understand Vat @ 20% the total is due but I can’t seem to figure whether any import duties would be added.

According to https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/duty-calcu...

Suspension Springs come under commodity code 7320101190 and don’t attract any import duty. I assumed the duty would be 10%

What UPS handling costs are likely and are they likely to know how to apply the correct commodity code for the parts - if that is how it is done.

Anyone know how this would likely play out?

If you can get the supplier to put the commodity code on the shipping documents then HMRC should apply the appropriate tax

Cheers - will ask them to do that.
