So, with BMW cancelling their contracts with UK Police Forces (or is the other way around?), we're perhaps entering a new era of Police cars in the UK. Who stands to benefit the most? Volvo? Skoda?

I know that we don't get Ferrari/Lambo Police cars like the Italians/UAE or 911s like the Germans but we have still had some cool Police cars over the years. So, if you happened to serve on the force, what in your opinion were the best Police cars and if you didn't, what were your favourite(s)?

The ones that I remember most fondly were from quite early on in my life

Although I don't really recall seeing many Rover 800s/mk3 Granadas after this.

My favourite was probably these though. I remember lots of them being around in the 90s and following one through a village with my mum and it just f****** off when we hit the NSL, even though it wasn't on a blue light run!

Again, I remember seeing less Omegas after Vauxhall/Opel cancelled the Senator.

These were pretty cool too but I never saw many in my neck of the woods (Wiltshire). A case of having to get what the crims were using to catch them?

Less fond of the one that caught me out though. Sneaky!

From what I hear though, the Volvo (V70 T5/D5?) were very well liked by those who used them to do their job.

So, what in your opinion were the best/your favourite Police cars in the UK?

Lancashire police force's MG A. And of course the various P6s and SD1s.

Surely it has to be:

Daimler Dart SP250... 2.5l V8 sports car with a decent number in police use in the 50s and 60s. Rather hot performance for its day and I dare say with modern tyres could keep up with most of the modern family hatchbacks in most situations.

I've a picture of it somewhere as a lad at Hutton Grammar in the 90s and the Lancs Constab 6-wheeler Landy came by, slowly...

It was that heavy it couldn't stop very well laugh

Not sure if this is just a mock-up, but love it nonetheless.

A big Merc wagon from about 2006.
It came barreling up behind me doing 90 on the M5 one early Saturday morning on the way to a car show.
As I pulled to the left lane he came alongside and the passenger asked me to slow down then he floored it off up the next slip road.

Relieved? Yes. I'll never forget that sight either, as I glanced in the rear view mirror as I went to pull in after the overtake.

I've been seeing Teslas recently.

Best ever is the Senator for me.
