What’s the weirdest option a manufacturer has offered on a car ,I have never seen one but the Honda CRV had a shower option in the back door….

You could have had this installed in your Lamborghini Diablo.

Not sure how weird it was but does anybody else remember the Corsa with a built in bike rack in the bumper? Kind of weird but also quite clever I thought.

I remember McLaren on the F1 offering in car radio offering two brothers the ability to talk to one other via VHF

We have done this before: but the business man’s Alfa, with built in and removable briefcase was always a good one !

My E34 M5 had fog light washers. Think they were standard though, not optional

That had the first electric spoiler on a car too, albeit on the front. Shortly before the Thema 8.32, Corrado and 964 I think

The Holland and Holland Range Rover had some pretty special options.

It wasn't an option but pretty obscure!

If I had the windscreen wipers on in my 1985 Ford Scorpio and I put it in reverse the rear wiper would turn itself on. I still haven't had another car with as many gadgets.

My old MG ZS180 used to do that (I imagine 1990's Civics of the same shape whould do the same).

Probably the only advanced thing in that car biggrin

Our 2006 Skoda Fabia used to do that, I thought the rear wiper was broken with a mind of its own for years before I realised it was supposed to do it!

I’ve had it on a few cars, including my current Mk1 XC90, but I recall it being part of a magazine advert for the Rover 800 Fastback in the 80s too

Mazda do heated element strips under the windscreen wipers. Not heated windscreens, just the bit under the wipers and at the sides of the windscreen where the final wipe is.

Seems obscure and pointless…. Mazda like to do things differently as they say.

Depends on trim I think - if you have piano black on the W205 C63s you don't get the clock (personal experience!)

Looks like the partnership was been in place since 2004 but maybe Merc bit longer to install.

Always thought the rooftop tent Porsche offer as an option on the 911 was an answer to a question nobody had asked until the Dakar version made me start dreaming of nights under the stars..

Electrically deployable towbar on landrovers
Why?
Just bolt the towbar on the back of the car and leave it there.
Same goes for removable tow bars, why? Is a towbar so shameful that it must not be seen and should be hidden away?
