Bit of a specific area of pondering this one but can't find much info on the web so wondered if any manufacturing gurus on here could maybe shed some light?

Obviously it depends on where in the world the car is being made but wondered if each factory has an optimum time of year for a car to be built due to ambient weather conditions? I know things vary day to day but based on averages, how does temperature and humidity effect things?

Say for example, is it better for a car to be made in winter/cooler conditions due to less corrosion setting in in on any bare metal or would it mean hot parts might get condensation on them as they cool making corrosion worse?

I imagine nearly all painting is done in controlled conditions but surely even the best systems must still be somewhat effected by the weather?

Thanks in advance

The weather has nothing to do with anything.

I’d be more concerned about it being a first day back after shutdown car, or built within the first 12 months of the model starting production, than whether or not it was raining when the shift started.

No difference, I'd be more worried about post-shutdown.

Seeing some of the state of the art factories (e.g. Factory 56 for Mercedes) I think there are relatively variables in modern manufacturing.

One of the biggest challenges in any manufacturing is consistency, from frozen roast potatoes to rocket engines, and there will be loads of processes in place to achieve this.

In any case it's far more nuanced than that, the car will be assembled at a given time but all of it's thousands of components that can fail and ruin your day were made days or weeks or months before in factories all over the world. When it was actually assembled is one very small piece of the timeline before it gets to you.

As above.
Not car related, but I've known machiney components to sit outside in the open for around a year before being fitted.
Also, anything shipped by sea freight in a container is subject to "salty" air and extremes of temperature. And containers can leak allowing both rain water and sea spray in ingress.
