This really irritates me and happened again several times yesterday in a car with work friend .
He has this odd habit of having stopped at the lights then over several minutes will keep edging forward slightly more and more braking in between ,until almost in the incoming traffic .maybe he thinks it will make the lights turn ? but they never do

Also why does people in parking bays have to park so close and box me in for no reason
Earlier in the week I left the car in the middle of a bay and got back to find a civic about 2 inches from the drivers side .strangely there was an adult in the back of there car who just watches me struggle to get back in

I find 'creepers' annoying too, or those that rock back and forth as try to balance it on the clutch.

Swing right to turn left.

Annoying.

"Brake dabbers", if there is such a phrase, on motorways.

The funny thing with these types is, they are always so slow to get away once the lights have gone green.

Rather than let off the brake as she’s just about to stop so it’s nice and gentle, my wife presses harder so every stop results in a jolt.

I wish people would use their handbrake in traffic or when stopped for several minutes at lights

Especially at night I mean. I'm sick of being blinded by bright brake lights

Has to be people pulling back in lane far too soon after an overtake for me. One of the new MG4s pulled in far too close to my van at the start of the M62 coming out of Hull.

Next to the overhead gantries? Even if there’s no cameras (installing more by the roadside now though).

Over creepers I tend to see if I can notice them, and slightly move forward but not over the line.

My record is someone virtually entirely completely across the line.

It has to be the 40 to 45 brigade everywhere. Having pulled over for one these numpties to let them by coming into a 30 I got insight into their mentality. "You keep changing your speed mate"....at the time on a road with about 4 speed limit changes, at the time I was confused to fk.

People who dawdle along well below the speed limit, clearly not paying attention, then speed up to get across the lights as they change from amber to red

Yep. I've previously mentioned my father-in-law a few times in this regard on PH. He can be driving along a perfectly flat, wide, straight, multi-lane road with no junctions or other hazards in clear conditions in broad daylight with no other traffic...and he'll still dab the brakes regularly for no reason at all. It's not great following such a driver but try being a passenger with one - after a few miles the Dalai Lama himself would be screaming with frustration.

I followed a brake dapper once. Perfectly clear straight road with nothing in front. Religiously 5 mph below the speed limit. Yet every time there was a car coming in the opposite direction the brake lights would come on.

I don't know if this is just a local (Cardiff) thing but the amount of people who go through red lights after they've changed at the moment winds me up.

It's almost like people have the mentality that if I've waited long enough, I'm entitled to go through on red. Very annoying if you've been waiting to turn right and are effectively stranded in the middle of the junction or your signal has gone green and you can't physically go because some entitled person has decided to go through on red.

This is quite a well known phenomenon, you can use it to help with your own driving, ooh look he's swinging left, he must be about to turn right, it's almost better than them putting on a indicator, gives you a warning of their intended actions. I'm sure Reg Local on here has mentioned it before as well.

And one from me:

For the first turn of the steering wheel, putting your hand under the top of the wheel to turn it.

Is there a lot more of this nowadays due to radar cruise and the like?
I ask because I have seen numerous brief brake applications seemingly for no reason and no discernible effect.
