With a significant birthday coming up I am looking for a driving experience to celebrate. I am not really interested in track driving or supercar's etc, rallying has always been my thing.

I have looked at booking Below Zero Ice Driving but it is way out of my price bracket....by a lot! I have done Higgins Rally School, Oulton Park Rally Master and Silverstone Rallyschool (a long time ago)..

Does anyone have any recommendations? Must be UK based, Rear Wheel Drive cars.......and ideally with plenty of seat time.

I am considering a drift day but not sure it will really float my boat. Can anyone persuade me otherwise?

Cheers

Phil Price Rally School seems to get decent reviews and at lest is a bit more than the common skidding about in a carpark setup that a lot use. They have WD and AWD cars.

Another vote for Phil Price Rally School here.
It really was one of the best driving experience days I've ever done. Lots of car time, great teachers etc. It's a few years now though since I did it, (maybe 8 yrs ago, so not sure if any significant changes).
It's the only driving day that I've ever done twice and both times were totally enjoyable, the attitude was one of pushing you to get the best out of you and enjoying the experience. Other driving days that I've done seemed to focus more on not pushing the cars in case you damage them etc... But I didn't feel that once on this experience. It was more if you don't spin you're not trying hard enough attitude :-)

I was also lucky enough to meet and drive alongside the great man himself - Great memories indeed.

I haven't used Phill Price as yet, but it's on my to do list. I have carried our a lot of research on rally experiences and this one always seems to get great reviews. A full day is £399 with a max of 9 drivers per day, so it should mean lots of driving. I think they also use some of the forest stages used by the WRC teams for testing, back when the WRC bothered come to Wales.

I will be booking in for this one when the time comes!

Nothing to add other than I was bought a 1/2 day experience at some place down near Saffron Walden - from memory driving a Sierra Cosworth among other things. I was excited to try it as i'd never driven at speed on loose surfaces before, however having done the day I feel i'm still to be able to 'tick this box off my list', and wouldn't hurry back there. Tight little 'track' up a torn up runway and back with cones laying out a rudimentary course, not exactly what I had envisioned but hey ho.

I did visit probably 6/7 years ago so it may have changed in the interim.
