Hi, need some help please.

My GTi odometer developed a error last year, the mileage disappeared, anyway long story short I got a 2nd hand cluster but the mileage was twice what mine had been frown but I needed to install it so I had a true record of the mileage I was doing. I have kept the original cluster which shows the mileage and have kept a note of the 'start' mileage on the 'new' 2nd hand one. My MOT is due soon and I need to get the mileage corrected to the correct reading on the 'new' cluster, can anyone recommend someone in the Midlands? I have found a few online but would like recommendations if anyone has actually had the work done and it worked. Thanks

Quoted for when this disappears, pointing out the obvious flaw.

Thanks for the 'reply' when I said the mileage disappeared it did and I got a line of dash's, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the mileage appeared, but drive 1 mile and the mileage disappears and the line of dash's appear again. So the mileage on the original cluster can be seen, but only for the first mile! - was trying to make a long story short, hopefully this explain what I meant!

My Daughter's Focus developed the known 'Engine Malfunction' warning on the instrument cluster.

I found these guys online who repaired it same day and then sent it back. Fantastic service and considering the price of a new cluster vs a repair at £69.99 (inc posting) it was an easy choice.
I realise this is not the same as your issue but I know they do mileage corrections so maybe they can help out or even repair your original cluster ?

I mean just put the original cluster in for the mot. Well done for persevering with a mk3.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies, Juice I have emailed your link to see if they can help and give me a £££

Browna thanks, to be it's a nice car to dive very low mileage too! (well when I get the cluster sorted!)

Mwstewart thanks, read the link, sadly looks too complicated although I am IT 'savey' I am not that brave to even try!
