Would welcome guidance please. Had 9 year no claims when Range Rover sport went back in lock down, November 2019.

Then was only second driver on wife’s policy until 1st December 21 when had company car with proven company no claims until March 23.

So far 3 companies have declined to acknowledge any no claims discount.

Would welcome any guidance on potential insurance companies/brokers please.

I had a 2.5 year gap in my insurance and most insurers said my NCD was no longer valid after 2 years. I did find a broker who would accept it but as you have 3.5 years without your own insurance I think you may be out of luck.
You may get some insurers who will grant you a good introductory NCD based upon your good driving record with your company car.

Does NCD make a lot of difference to the insurance cost?
I find it's a lot less than you think.

Go on Autotrader :-
Pick any car;
Go to "Insurance - get a quote";
Change the reg. No. to your car;
Enter all your details and compare the price for no NCD and 9 years NCD.

I seem to recall Direct Line went back 4 years.
For brokers , A plan seem to get praise or for personal Fleet / Higher values , Nowell and Richards.

Have you tried that recently? It did used to be the case that you'd get a hefty introductory discount but I wonder if that's been knocked on the head by the rule that insurance companies can't quote a new customer lower than an existing one.

OP: Did you try your wife's insurer? They might mirror the NCD.

Yes, about 3 weeks ago. 2 years NCD was ~ £2 cheaper than 1 year. The previous year, no NCD was cheaper than 1 years NCD (go figure), so at the time of applying, I had not actually had 1 years NCD yet so I just paid for the no NCD. This was with the same insurer. Insurance works in mysterious ways.
