Temporary UK Insurance with Foreign License

[happygoron]

Hey all,

Does anyone have any experience being insured on a UK car with a foreign license for a few weeks? I live in canada now and when visiting the UK used to be able to be added to my parents insurance temporarily but they no longer seem to allow it, even with an international drivers permit. Does anyone know any options for this?

Thanks
