What car is this? NB. Description only!

Mate of mine is currently in Germany and has seen a car that he can't identify. His description...

I saw two of the same cars this holiday and I don’t know what they are - looked like cross between an Audi A7 and a Beetle - still frustrated by it! Another good comparison is the BMW 6 series with a 911 rear end with the long strip for lights.

Any ideas?

That's the one I was trying to think of.

Doubt it's a Porsche as he has two Porsches and knows the range inside out.

I guess styling aside, it may well be a very good car
