Everrati reveals new EV 'inspired by' 911 ST
Conversion specialist adds '70s hero to its growing electrified lineup

The rumours suggest that Porsche is putting the finishing touches to its next Heritage car, one to follow-up last year’s reinvention, the 911 Sport Classic. That was based on the 992 Turbo, but the next-in-line is thought to be the GT3 Touring-based 911 ST. Can’t wait for that one, for sure. But at the other end of the market, Everrati Automotive has just announced its own reinvention of the classic 911 ST.
The original model was produced in small numbers between 1970 and ’71. It was a low-weight racer that took advantage of changes to FIA rules to include wider tyres for greater competitiveness on track. The customer racers weighed around 900kg and were offered with tuned, high-revving versions of the famous flat-six. STs proved competitive, too, at endurance races such as Daytona, Sebring, the Nürburgring and the Targa Florio.

Everrati’s interpretation doesn’t have a flat six, though. This Oxfordshire-based specialist in the integration of electric powertrains into classic cars has produced a zero-emissions ST, with an electric motor instead of the traditional air-cooled offering. Hold your horses with the booing, please.
No, the Everrati ST won’t rasp away from behind your ears, but to make up for that it does have 440hp going to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. That means it’s a lot quicker than the original, with a sub-four-second 0-60mph time. The 62kWh battery also gives it a quoted range of 200 miles, although probably less if you exploit that level of acceleration too often.
This ‘70s-inspired look is built around a G-Series car, and along with 21st-century propulsion it also has 21st-century tech elsewhere. Features that include AC and DC Fast charging, air conditioning, power steering, and Apple CarPlay. Completing the specification is the option of Tractive active and adaptive suspension, which we’ve tried on the Spartan featured recently on PH as well as the 911 by Theon Design we drove last year. In both instances, the Tractive setup has proved highly effective in terms of comfort and body control.

Speaking about its latest creation, Everrati Founder and CEO, Justin Lunny, said: “This latest addition to our leading range of redefined and electrified Porsche 911s is one that all of us at Everrati have had in mind for a long time – and are delighted to finally showcase. The original 911 ST is a legendary machine, ultra-rare, lightweight, the very essence of a motorsport-inspired Porsche. Our redefined version pays homage to that legend.
“Our expert processes and network of best-in-class suppliers and technology partners, such as RS Werks – who we are excited to be working with – ensures we can create an unrivalled driving experience that combines the best of classic design with modern, zero-emission, performance. We are committed to preserving the legacy of iconic vehicles while advancing the transition to sustainable luxury mobility”.

its part of the system, but... nicer to see it in a classic dress then many of the modern EV's and don't worry, many many old Porsche's left who were else rotten somewhere or in a shed somewhere forgotten.
I don't get converting classics. You either want a dull but fast commuter car - Buy a Tesla/Polestar etc, or you want something interesting and exciting to drive. What you create is the worst of both worlds.

I don't get it, I never will, why convert classics to EV? There are great advances in synthetic fuels that ensure these cars can be driven still and in any case converting a car that is likely to do what 500 miles tops a year to an EV is not green, it's wasteful.
I drive an EV, a BMW i4, it's a great car, quick, quiet, fantastic BIK (main reason I drive it) but that's where it stops, I don't for a minute think I'm green by driving it. I would never in a million years jump in to it just for a drive which lets be honest you would with this Porsche. Making it an EV has removed a huge draw of what the car is.

Get over it. About the only thing I can remotely think of thats missing is noise. I dont care a fig about vibration (which some people seem to confuse with character), and a manual. And considering the buying publics massive proclivity towards automatics, as opposed to this minority PH community seemingly filled to the brim with self-proclaimed "driving gods" who wouldnt be caught dead in an automatic, the market has spoken. As I said, get over it.
Oh, and for those who absolutely MUST inflict noise on those around them => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--ezgU8Nro0
The cars used were not however cars famed for their handling, feel, character, drivetrain or, yes, noise.
Making this kind of car from one famed for everything about its driving experience, to me, is nonsense. My opinion, You get over it

Old analogue polluting things will die. My car and I are but two..... I'm not sure that means stuff like this requires 100% buy-in from old car enthusiasts though...SO many more worthwhile targets.
But I don’t have a problem with this conversion and can see the appeal. It’s a cool looking EV and the G series isn’t exactly rare. If you can afford this then you would probably have enough spare for a couple of petrol versions.
I’ve seen a few EV converted land rovers and they make a lot of sense. Would love to convert mine but it’s still ££££’s. Was a chap working on a kit from old Leafs and Zoe’s. Wonder how he’s getting on.
'Interesting to drive' when the original ST had a screaming N/A flat six engine with a weight of around a tonne? I wish I was interested in as boring crap as you, must be very easily amused.
No mention of where the battery pack sits, and therefore what weight distribution is like. Presumably that's going to hugely influence the driving experience versus a petrol 911?

An EV's simplicity and lack of drama is what makes it great for modern family motoring.
A classic is the complete antithesis and should stay that way. At the very most a modernisation of the drivetrain etc is ok.
Fitting an EV drivetrain is a crap as making it a diesel for the reliability and economy. Completely misses the point IMO.
