What are the greatest manual sports/super cars since 2000?

Just having a muse as we see less and less manuals being made. Maybe these will be the sought after classics of the future, if they aren't already.

Pictures, links and ownerships experiences is what this thread is (hopefully) about.

Gonna be biased and nominate the manual E92 V8 M3.

Love mine, and can't think of any 400bhp+ RWD NA 8250rpm manual alternatives for close to the money.

Sure, it's got its "niggles", and sure, the DSG alternative does work well with the nature of the engine, but I really wouldn't swap away from the manual option for my weekend toy, road car use.

my old MX5 MK3 1.8 5 speed felt pretty much perfect to me, everything else I've tried has felt very spongy, imprecise or the clutch pedal position doesn't match up to where the clutches actual position is (Clutch delay valves?)

Supercar nomination: Porsche Carrera GT

Sports car: that's harder. S2000, Cayman R, Cayman GT4, MX5 all tick a lot of boxes. I'd probably pick the Cayman R, even though the GT4 is ultimately faster.

Careful, you'll set cerb4.5lee off about torque if you're not careful!

Whilst many people quite rightly like the engine, to be honest I thought the gearshift itself was a bit cack, really limp plasticy feeling shift as is de rigeur for BMW

Personally, I didn't really find the mythical engine with the squirt of power at 8,000rpm that exciting either (didn't notice that apparent final surge for the redline at all) but I'm aware I'm in the minority there so should keep schtum

As you say though, for the money (or really any amount) there are not a lot of 8,000rpm+ RWD manual V8 options!

MR2 Mk 3.

Unpopular due to lack of luggage space (probably unfair as it had a frunk and a useful compartment behind the seats) but, nonetheless, it came second only to the Boxster in an early EVO test.

Cheap as chips. Sticks like ***** to a blanket.

The E9x M3 was the first car to come into my mind when I saw the title in fairness. The manual gearbox wasn't all that great as you say and I personally prefer both the manual gearboxes overall in the Cerbera/370Z that I had/have(both have a heavier/more deliberate feel to them that I like). However even 10 years ago when I had the E92 M3 I did think that it would eventually become a very sought after modern classic though for sure.

That would be true if the gearbox wasn't so bloody awful, such a shame as the engine is amazing.
