Is the NOX sensor shortage issue just Mercedes?
Discussion
...or is it affecting other car manufacturers too?
There seems to be MANY Merc owners waiting months for a new NOX sensor, with potential engine damage a possibility as well as the car failing its MOT.
I'm planning on buying a 220d Merc (2021) soon, but am seriously concerned about this problem. In the event of a sensor problem, car may be off the road for months.
My Dad has a petrol C-class (2019) that has this problem at the moment and his Dealership has no idea when one will come in. None in Germany. They told him to avoid driving long distances.

If I remember correctly, the NOx sensor issue only affects the petrol variants, not the diesels.
I've had both, only had the issue on the petrol one.
Certainly not the case that's it effects petrol only. I've had both, only had the issue on the petrol one.

You can buy emulators to trick the car everything is ok.
Vauxhall and VW don't seem to have a supply issue at the minute.
Where can you get these? I looked into having the system remapped out purely due to the lack of sensor availability. Don't really want to go down that route however.Vauxhall and VW don't seem to have a supply issue at the minute.
Do Vauxhall and VW not suffer from supply issues more so because their sensors don't fail, seemingly, every other day?

Fwiw, I've been able to successfully clear the fault code via an obdii reader for months now.
Not sure if it matters which of the nox sensors fails as I believe there are multiple, and I counted about 5 sensors in the exhaust when I got under it last.
Usually 2, one before, one after. treat them as o2 sensors. You will then have pressure sensors and temp sensors in there. Not sure if it matters which of the nox sensors fails as I believe there are multiple, and I counted about 5 sensors in the exhaust when I got under it last.
@OP, yes both Vauxhall and VW can have issues but the ones we have always turned up. Not had to order any Mercedes ones.
