Had a Halfords banner pop up on PH with Never Lose Valve Caps:

https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/...

4 bolt type thingys with a nylon core so they don't have bimetallic corrosion and fuse solid to your brass valve stems and a really poor looking thick black tether that will flap around as your wheel rotates. All for £9.99.

Now I remember buying a 200 pack of standard black plastic valve caps about 10 years ago off eBay for £2.99. And I think I still have about 190 left!

Anything else that is utter gash for cars?

Any gash like this on the back of any hatchback. Laughable and like wearing clown's shoes.

I think those 'anti static discharge strips' are pretty pointless.

What about windscreen washer tablets?

I tried them once and I may as well have used paracetamol instead as the end result was no different to just having water in the wash bottle.

They still seem to be available though, so someone must buy them....

Fuel saving devices. Unless you believe that automakers spending billions trying to improve the economy of their vehicles, but never thought to just put a 50p magnet round the fuel line

Thank you! I was starting to wonder if it was just me.
Given the quality of finish, the first time I thought it might be an over application of rainex.

Are they not an attempt to prevent camera identification of the driver? As well as looking poo!

These abominations, guaranteed to cheapen any car, usually so badly fitted it makes the rim look buckled as the wheel rotates

I can't understand how they're legal.
So chavvy IMO.

... should be dragged from their car and beaten around the head with a tyre iron until some semblance of a clue is knocked into their single barely functioning brain cell.

Terrible yes, but more of a modification than a 'product' as such.

I’d go with that gel stuff that is supposed to restore black plastic trim but just goes on white then looks ste after it’s rained once. I miss the days of the proper back-to-black stuff that stung your nostrils when you used it.

Most are not. I’m seeing a lot of post from various police pages where these have failed the tint meter by quite a margin.

That looks to be a legitimate version... possibly question the security of the lower mountings on the hatch. But generally speaking most people aren't adding these wings to tune the downforce of their vehicle.

I'm not entirely sure what utter gash means. But my recently purchased BMW had a lot of terrible things added to it.

The most obvious being the motorsport strip along the top of the windscreen. But it also has eyebrows and some sort of weird spats added to the door mirrors. A stick on rear spoiler in carbon fibre effect finish. All in the bin now.

Then you get a whole barrage of people in the comments moaning about how the police should be fighting real crimes.

These window tints and 4D/darkened plates are a good indicator of tts to avoid on the road.
