My wife's car is in the garage, it has been there for nearly two months. I spoke to the garage today for an update and apparently the part they need is on back order (Ie they have no idea when it will turn up).

It's a brand new car, Leased under on ef the government employees lease schemes. Anyone have any idea whether she should still be paying the lease payments? Or can she ask to have them suspended until the car is back? I will, of course, get her to speak to the lease company, but they have not shown themselves to be very reliable thus far.

TIA

Speak to lease co, I wouldn’t want to be paying lease or co car tax (if applicable) on something I don’t have and can’t use. If they’ve given you a courtesy car then perhaps a different story. Let the lease co then take it up with dealer - I think you’ll find things get sorted pretty swiftly thereafter. Shouldn’t have really left it 2 months though….
Good luck.

We are new to this lease thing and weren't expecting it to be in the garage so long. We still don't know when it will be back.
If it were me, I would have been on to the lease Co ASAP. It's the wife though.
I am pretty sure the lease company is Toshiba.

If she's not bothered, then why worry?

I presume she has a courtesy / loan car.

Because it's costing a few hundred pounds a month.

Has she got a loan car?

Yep. She has a Skoda Fabia to replace her Enyaq. However, it's not gauranteed. Let me know if you are happy to shell out Enyaq money for a Fabia.

Your wife seems happy about it - who am I to argue?

I would be a bit miffed about the cost of petrol vs electricity.
