Tax reminder re August

Has anyone not received a tax reminder for August?

Or the other way have reminders other than mine been delivered as expected?

I can tax it off the v5 obviously but I've never not had a reminder before. Owned the bike and been at the same address for years and getting other post regularly, if not daily.

When does your tax expire?
If it's the end of August you won't get a reminder until around the start of the second week of August.

Maybe I am missing something here, but if you already know when it is due, why do you need a reminder?

It’s July expiry.

I know it but the reminder with reference number is helpful and it’s never been an issue before. I nearly always pay when it arrives so a few weeks early where now without the reminder I’ll do it last minute.

My came within a few days of the beginning of July and I renewed a couple of days ago

I never got a reminder, just an email with the payment schedule and it had been renewed via DD

I’ve not got any tax renewing in July or August but all mine usually arrive a couple of weeks before the due date.
I’ve never not received a reminder which as you say is just easier to renew with so if yours hasn’t arrived yet for 1/7 I doubt it now will !

My tax runs out on 31st July and always get a reminder in the first week of July. I have not received one this year and had to look out the V5 to get the document number to do the tax. No biggie though.

Does sound a bit glitchy.

Could be quite a few missed payments I reckon.

Mine is due on 1 August, not had a reminder yet which I thought was weird a couple of weeks ago. Didn't realise that you can tax it online if you have the V5 thought it had to be the new keeper slip or reminder.

A reminder is convenient as it has all the necessary information required to renew.

If I tax using the V5C reference number today then will the tax start from this month (July) or should I wait until Aug 1?

Aug 1st

It's the same online process as if you had the reminder. You just select V5 and enter the 11 digit doc reference number as opposed to selecting the reminder and inputting the 16 digit number.

Nope, I've got a car due for renewal on 1st August and didn't get anything so just logged on using the V5 ref number to pay the £0 road tax for the car.

I too, have yet to receive a reminder for both our cars (tax due 1st August). Just as well i saw this thread, as i thought there were taxed till the end of August.

But

For one of them, the Additional Rate is applicable until 31 March 2024. So if I tax for a year, will they pro rata the 'super tax' that i have to pay !?
