Track day organiser at Brands apparently.

Driver claims he "dabbed" on the brakes and it snaked on him.

I've only seen the result.

But if you/your insurer would be getting the bill for that would you retain that driver? scratchchin

Speaking as a transporter driver, I'd say he wont lose his job. As long as he wasn't texting or something daft.
The company have put out a press release praising his quick reactions, so guessing he has tried to avoid a car / cow / cyclist and got it well out of shape.

So, were these fleet cars rather than customer cars?

Would at least make things simpler...

Yeah I think Everyman racing are a ‘super car driving experience’ type company.

Response from poster here about firing the driver a bit odd.

Employees are people (even the good ones), people make mistakes (even the careful ones), and when driving you are not in control of your environment. Yes, you’d fire someone if they were reckless. But thats unlikely in this situation. It’s very very easy to imagine something happening on the road that requires some evasive action, leading to an incident like this. In fact, depending on circumstances, what happened might even be a GOOD outcome, not a bad one. So to go straight to ‘fire the driver’ is just… odd.

Speaking as another (moved to easier pastures new) transporter driver, as said above so long as the driver wasn't doing something daft there's no reason to suppose he will lose his job.

Even if he has made a driving mistake and from the link the company don't think he has, if everyone who works for a living was sacked when they made an error there'd be no one (except politicians who blame everyone else for their erros) still in a job.

The modern design of transporter takes some handling, unlike almost any other truck design the way its configured, maybe a timely reminder that umpteen ncap stars mean sod all if that lot lands on your car.

Oh, let Mr Tidy have his fun. Some blokes seem to get unreasonably excited at the opportunity to play manager in these circumstances and have fun opining that they would sack this or that employee. God knows why, possibly makes them feel powerful. I've been on the receiving end with a customer who, for spurious reasons, claimed he would have sacked me if he was my boss.

'But you aren't, sir,' was the reply. He had nothing to say after that!

Anyway, glad the driver is all right and sounds - from the statement - as if he prevented something more serious happening.

Fair play that certainly is refreshing. I assume they will have had dashcam etc so have a fair idea what happened. Good that they're standing by the driver.

Everyman are great. I've used them twice. Second time was only a few months ago. Some of their cars were looking a bit worse for wear. I wonder how many cars needing expensive maintenance were on that particular transporter! scratchchin
