I need a spare to put in the boot as I don't like relying on tyre gunk. This one which is a perfect match is being offered from a breakers. They state the tyre is fine so would you be worried about the integrity of this wheel or is it definitely just cosmetic?

I have bought steel spares complete with new tyre on e bay a few times for cars with no spare .I would not use the wheel in the picture.

I can't find anything in the correct size. Of course I could go with a mismatched space-saver but would be nice to have something that matches the rolling radius of the other wheels.

It doesn't need to be a perfect match in terms of rolling radius (it wouldn't be anyway due to different levels of wear).

If it's straight - yes. No problem. That's assuming the gap at 12 o'clock in the first photo is part of the design. It looks to be.

Yeah, as a spare, I'd run this.

Going by the picture, I would not use that wheel. My wife’s Fabia came with a steel spare. Being a purist, I bought a matching alloy wheel. Now it has two spares, and I can’t even remember which is in the car. All else being equal, I’d go for a steel spare, unless the savings are marginal.

Ignoring what can be seen from the photos, is the wheel cracked? If it was me, I'd be inclined to opt for a steel spare as already suggested.

Sorry, but I don’t believe you smile Is budget a consideration? If not, you can buy the correct wheel.

Thanks everyone. I managed to find a 17" full size steel wheel/tyre combo with the right offset that has only an 8mm difference in diameter to my 19"s with brand new tyres, so I've gone with that instead.

That's nothing more than a parking scuff. It looks awful but it's cosmetic.

It's a scratch. You're one of the pussies I was referring to.

If you are going to treat it as a "get you home spare", then yes.

If you are going to put it on and drive it until it wears out, then no.

Ask yourself, if you didn't have a spare, and you hit a kerb and caused that damage, would you drive on it, or call recovery?

That damage is nothing, the driver of this Bugatti EB110 that I saw a few years ago didn’t seem too bothered by this biggrin
