What exactly do you expect them to do ? Being too busy is a nice problem for a business to have

From reading another thread it appears that mechanics are in short supply, so maybe not a nice problem?

Why is this taking the custard? I don't understand, or are you of the belief that they just cant be arsed to fit you in before then? Whole post is a bit weird

Very much a nightmare for us selling as well.

Just old a used car and cant get it serviced and mot'd for 3 weeks because we are already fully booked with sold cars, service cars warranty work.

Advertising for 2 mechanics as well as well no bites so far, Most of the garages around us are the same 2 - 3 mechanics short.

DIY.

Save dosh, do it when it suits you, and you don’t have to take it anywhere.

My solution too. Need to book myself to change my wife's timing belt in the next few weeks.

Book it and then see if you can get it earlier elsewhere, if you can't you still have it booked, if you can book the service at an earlier date at a different garage and cancel the later booking date.

Put note in the diary to book service at least 2 months ahead of the due date next year.

Car (probably) won't die from being 2 months overdue for a service. So no biggie.
