Maybe but most of the time it can be quicker using a search engine.

There are a few trailer manufacturers and what the op is after could be a build to order unit and priced accordingly expensive.

You're very unlikely to find a braked trailer with a max laden weight of 800kg. This is because (much cheaper) trailers can be unbraked up to 750kg laden weight, so who would spend nearly twice as much to carry 50kg more.

All the other requirements can be easily met with an Ifor Williams General Duty trailer or similar, you'll just get a max laden weight of about 1.5 tonnes instead of 800kg. Just because it can be loaded up to 1.5 tonnes doesn't mean you have to use all the capacity....

Alternatively carry 50kg less and get an unbraked trailer.

(and remember all these max weights include the weight of the trailer as well - a braked 1.5 tonne max laden weight trailer will weigh about 400kg so actually can carry only just over a tonne of cargo)

When you say Max weight 800kg, you mean GVW or carrying capacity? If the former, then how about this?

I made the comment because the post sounded like the OP had not looked and expected PH to magically find the exact make, model, etc.

If it was more of a 'I have looked but not finding what I need' type post and wanting some pointers then fine.

I was thinking the same. Ifor williams have something for almost every scenario.

Up to 750kg unbraced there’s the P8E and over that for braked the GD84 both of which are available with mesh sides and will take an 8x4 sheet laid flat.

Basically, ive got a car that can only tow upto 400kg unbraked and 800kg braked and I want something that could carry a motorcycle or 2, but im not keen on the motorcycle specific trailers incase a strap comes loose, id sooner have something with mesh sides so at least if it comes undone it cant cant cause an accident.

Ratchet straps are extremely reliable and aren't likely to come undone. If a motorcycle were to fall in a caged trailer, it might well topple the entire trailer rather than just fall off the trailer, potentially upsetting the tow car and causing far more damage than might have occurred on a proper motorcycle trailer. Plus a motorcycle trailer will be MUCH easier to load and unload, which is when you're most likely to have an issue. You've already said in the biker forum that you have difficulty manhandling your bike!

Buy a bike trailer and double-strap?

Unless you're thinking about taking 2x Goldwings full of luggage you don't need anything like 800kg

This. I have a caged trailer like the one in the link (paxton brand but identical). It's brilliant as a general trailer, and I've used it for my vfr a few times - no problem strapping, great to tow but a bugger to load / unload.

Not what you asked for but it might be of interest to know a panel van usually has a 2.4m X 1.2m load bed and will usually take a ton or more...

I would respectfully suggest that the safest thing to carry one to two motorbikes is in fact a purpose built motorcycle trailer, which will have guides and front wheel locators...

I regularly tow a couple of 650s on a trailer. I always have some redundant straps so a failure will not have any significant impact (nothing has ever failed).

I suspect 90% of the real world accidents are loading and unloading, which is where a purpose built will be safer. Clearly these are unlikely to be life changing accidents, but it still hurts if a bike falls on you!

The ebay link trailer looks a night mare to load and tie down properly. 4ft wide won't cope with two decent size bikes either - measure handle bar width.

What sort of bikes are you towing. Off roads or Harleys wink

Just my opinion.

I used to use a 8x5x5 boxed tailer. Mine was unbraked, but i'm sure you can get a braked version to suit?

Bouns was the rear door dropped to act as the ramp; combined with a front wheel chock, loading was a breeze.

(unloading, if I put the bikes in with the tyres hot, was not...)

Something like a single axle car transporter trailer design for a smart car behind a camper would probably work. Bolt a couple of bike wheel chocks on and tie down points where you need them ( if nothing else already on it) get some endless ratchet straps or carabiners so the straps don’t pop off and crack on with it. I use to pull 3 track bikes on a twin axle mini transporter trailer. Worked lovely

As the owner of a mesh sided Ifor Williams trailer, I wouldn’t recommend them to carry a motorbike without alterations as the mesh sides flex.

I would put additional floor mounts similar to a bike trailer.
