Hi all,

Extremely random but.....what cars out there have a right sided space to rest your foot, i.e to the right of the accelerator pedal - like most cars do on the left.

My dad says his Seat Leon has it, must be quite rare as usually the front wheel is close to that area so reduces the space.

Just for when using cruise control you could rest your leg out a bit if you are tall etc.

Thanks

Is he talking about the wheel arch? I've driven a number of Leons in both LHD & RHD and never noticed anything unusual.

My 2018 Leon FR DSG does not have a right footrest. My 2012 Skoda Octavia vRS (also DSG) did. Some Golfs do?

Yes exactly, seems quite rare. His Leon is quite old now, 2009 I think.

Anything based on the Mk5/6 Golf and 2005 Passat floorpan has a footrest both sides.

I remember a chum of mine with a Jeep Wrangler, thumbing through an American bolt on magazine. In it, was a footrest, that drops in where the door hinge is, when the doors are lifted off. For the red neck, left foot out the door while you’re cruising the Highway. He seriously asked if they do them for the RHD Jeeps.

Got a random addition to this. VW ID.3 has a decent sized foot rest next to the accelerator pedal. Guess might be packaging of that particular EV which allows pedals to be fairly centrally placed.

I seem to remember my Discovery 4 had space to rest your foot to the right of the accelerator. I was disappointed that the Disco 5 that replaced it didn’t.
