Noticed that my front plate has disappeared from outside a hotel in the midlands a few weeks ago. Maybe wouldn’t have twigged but I happened to look at the front the day before for something to do with the headlights.

Anyway, reported it online just in case it hadn’t fallen off and the police advised to make a visible mark with tape on the replacement to differentiate my vehicle from any potential clone that’s kicking around, also told me to expect to be pulled over myself as they marked the plate for ANPR triggers etc.

Got pulled this week and they confirmed activity on my stolen plate (didn’t say what) but I’m surprised that I haven’t been pinged for whatever the scrotes decided to get up to with the original plate?

If I were you I'd buy a cheap private plate. Could well save you a load of hassle.

If you have a private plate, put your current one on retention for a while.

Sounds like some idiot who can't cobble one together or buy vanity ones on ebay so expect it's a low IQ crim wanting to either drive cloaked or do a bilking or two.

A while back I noticed plate was a bit thinner and bent a little, was confused for a bit then penny dropped, not my reg yikes
