Someone just tried to scam me
Discussion
Currently selling my car, Audi A6.
Buyer calls up and arranges to view today and asks not to run engine as wants to see it start from cold.
Buyer arrives, has a quick look around car and his mate asks for glass of water, I pop inside and get it for him.
We then go for a quick test drive, probably less than a mile.
Return back to mine, and buyer asks to have a quick look under the bonnet, where he notices loads of oil leaking from engine, then checks coolant reservoir and that is also full of oil, he reckons engine block is cracked.
It’s something I am unaware of, then offers to buy it for spares repair.
I declined as something didn’t feel right, then after they left I finally put it all together and worked out what they were up to.
Just a heads up in case it happens to anyone else
Anyway, a quick cleanup of engine and flush of reservoir and all ok
