The "Pics of your normal estate" seems quite popular, and I quite like the premise behind it. Not everyone on this site can afford something spectacular, so post a pic of your normal car!

Here is mine, a 2020 Seat Leon FR with the 1.5, 150hp engine. Bought it at the end of October 2023, and it now has to last me a minimum of 10 years before I feel I've got my money's worth out of it.

Only picture I have got. 2007 Audi A3 2.0TDI Quattro. Currently on 207k miles.

Picture taken when I was servicing it the other year (I do it every 10k miles)
I do want a new daily and I keep threatening it but no idea what to get. Seams a waste spend a lot of money to just sit on the m6.

A3’s got days left init yet anyway! Haha!

I have a normal estate posted on the normal estates thread, so I probably don’t belong here, but also in the stable is a very ‘normal’ Shogun 3.2. It’s normal in every way as you would expect from a Mitsubishi Shogun LWB, being large, slow, heavy, and yet it is not normal in one massive way… it has stickers, a fancy trim and a fancy name which make it rarer than a McLaren P1.

Brownie points for anyone who can guess. Double if you have one yourself, or an L200 or Outlander version.

Can’t post pictures as it will give the game away, but also because I don’t have any pictures of it. biggrin

I have a 308 GT Line. From 2019, but I acquired it in June 2022. It lived on the Isle of Wight and seemed to come across to the mainland frequently for the owners work.

Cleans up well, I like its proportions and sits nicely for what’s effectively a family hatchback.
Plenty of kit and the full pano roof makes it feel bigger and airy.

Here is my daily.

A 2005 manual BMW 330iSE that I bought in March 2019 with 107K miles on the clock. I wanted a Touring really but they are hard to find and were nearly twice the price, so as it has the split/fold rear seat option I talked myself into it. And I liked the Bi-Xenon headlights and electric glass sunroof! Plus it came with a second set of wheels with winter tyres that I'm still fitting each year.

Sadly it got a minor tap in the rear in April and the bodyshop recommended by the insurer of the guy who hit me padded out their estimate when all it needed was a bumper cover that's about £650 in primer from BMW, so Admiral made it a Cat N before they bothered telling me. Argued about the valuation too, but in the end I got 50% of what I paid for it as well as keeping it. On 124K now and still drives brilliantly, but it's now a Shed!

My normal car needs to last me another 12 months and maybe another 15,000 miles to stick on it..only because i prefer my money not in cars!

This is worth approximately 50p.

Here's our 2015, Subaru Forester. It's our go to winter car for where we live in Suffolk's bow and arrow country.

It can go anywhere and has never let us down in almost 100,000 miles of use.

We've no plans to sell it.

I recently bought an extremely average Megane 1.5dci to replace my Shogun Pinin that failed its MOT corrosion matters.

So far I've had to replace the glow plugs, and the master/slave cylinder (not sure which yet) had just failed. Shed fail.

2013 Proceed se diesel. Bought for £7600 in 2017 on 54k miles
Now on 118k was the other half’s daily until aug 2023 when I inherited it after she upgraded to a new Peugeot 2008 GT on lease.

It’s serviced every year and currently sits on Bridgestones.
The reverse camera ceased working 18 months ago but other than that it’s been perfectly reliable.

My mothers Puma after having a string of Minis. She absolutely loves it - it's a 155 BHP mild hybrid ST-Line X First Edition + in Grey Matter - this means it's got every single option apart from heated seats and steering wheel (even though it was advertised as having these). I'm a big fan of the MK1 Focus, having owned many of them - these drive just as well as they do, and the ride comfort on the biggest wheels is impressive too.

Dads MG3 Excite, his first brand new car. We've really warmed to yellow now, it was the free colour and in stock at the time. Great fun to drive, just like a car from the 90s, which suits him and I enjoy - the hydraulically assisted steering is an absolute delight compared to many numb electrically assisted examples around in other cars.

My Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6. Made possible by the sad loss of my grandmother. I bought an X3 30d at first which was faultless, but I just didn't gel with, then I saw this and had to have it. A few niggles at first, but it seems pretty bloody good so far.

My Freelander 2 metropolis.
A run out model packed with everything.
Has 140k on it and runs happily and just gets on with it.
Easily the most reliable car I’ve had and is now my OHs car as we have a baby and 5 doors are better for her.

Will swap the Pirelli all seasons for cross climate 2s come change time.
Will get some cosmetic tidying up this summer all going well as it’s lived in Scotland all it’s days and it’s starting to show.
