So bought a new car while waiting to sell my other car.
Car A is my "old" car that is insured by Insurer A this is the car my NCB is on....so had to insure new car "B" with 0 NCB on with another company as Insurer "A" wouldn't insure my new car.
Question is when I sell car "A" can I then call up my new insurer and get them to add on my NCB to my now only car as it would be jumping from 0 to 6.
Hope this makes sense

Yes, you should be able to, once car A is sold and insurance cancelled, with proof of NCB

Most insurance companies will insure the old car for a nominal amount for up to a month or two when the insurance is transferred onto the new car.

If car B costs more to insure you ought to be able to transfer the NCB to that and have no NCB on Car A until you sell it.

Can you tell us what the cars are? I've never experienced this kind of problem when upgrading or downgrading.

Are you all sure you can add a ncb on after a policy has been taken out?
