So I've rented a van and the next day the slide door broke. Rental company kept my 250 pounds deposit and they said they will send me invoice for the repairs and even charge me for rental while the van is the garage without me having the van because the rental agreement ended.
They said they charging me rental (when not having the van for 3 months now) because I signed the agreement...
How is this my fault when the slide door broke the first day of having the used van??

You will have to read the terms & conditions of the agreement (you signed) to see if your are liable for all repairs and lost revenue.
No one here knows what these terms & conditions are.
This.No one here knows what these terms & conditions are.
Also, I guess it depends how the door became broken:
If you overfilled the van and tried to slam/push the door shut on the load, then it would be entirely your fault.
If the load inside the van was nowhere near the door, and you shut the door 'normally' and it just simply fell apart, then clearly that wouldn't be your fault.

Don’t feel like this all your fault. They are taking the piss. Take a breath, and sort this logically. Go to the vendor and your Amazon contact and expain the situation. Write emails confirming the situation.
My advice would be to contact citizens advice (assuming you’re UK) if you can’t sort easily and quickly by amicable arrangements.
Keep us updated how you get on. Ignore the righteous on here, you will get lots of support and advice from many helpful people.
Good luck

Once he mentioned Amazon it makes sense - by the sound of it hes working for one of the many companies that subcontract for them.
Lots of these companies are terrible, and I'm not convinced they are operating legally, they seem to exist to screw rental fees from the drivers more than anything else.
A guy I know was "Self employed" with one, and similar things to what's described here have happened to him - an example being his van breaking down (nothing to do with him either) so he couldn't work but they still deducted the rental money from him while it was being repaired.
The rates they were charging were well above the rates I could see available commercially from the various lease companies as well, but they had to use this company for it. They also set working shifts and wouldn't allow them to use the vans for anything else - That doesn't sound like self employment to me.
A self employed person is effectively running their own business so they are free to hire (or buy) their vehicle from wherever they like.
It's dodgy enough with uber/deliveroo/hermes etc as they can't set prices, but at least they have the freedom to get there vehicles from wherever suits them best.

ds, not even sure if a union would be any use in this case as he's not an employee

You can contact ACAS and begin the Employment Tribunals process. It is a free service and has a lot of clout.
This would no doubt be a case of "unlawful deduction from wages". There can't be any contract written which would effect employees like this, it sounds wrong... so probably is wrong.
When you contact ACAS and start the Employment Tribunals process the first thing that'll happen is the ACAS councillor will contact your employer and try to straighten things out at an early stage before a tribunal begins.
The employer has to cooperate so you won't be messed around.
At the end you will get back all the money which was unlawfully deducted from your wages.
