EU GSR Regulations from 7 July 2024

Does anyone know for sure how the EU’s General Safety Regs (coming in July) work? And how they will affect or limit the UK’s supply of cars?
Background is that from 7 July, cars without certain safety systems will be unable to be sold in the EU, except under an exemption for low volume manufactures which limits EU sales to 1500 annually. Cars affected are not limited to but include the Toyota GR86, ICE Porsche Macan & Alpine A110.
Given the UK is adopting these GSR Regs, does anyone know for certain if UK sales will count towards the EU’s 1500 car allowance/exemption, or whether the UK will have its own allowance unaffected by EU sales numbers?
