On the Tolman Escort thread, someone mentions the glass polishing. This is something that has interested me; I bought some Carpro Ceriglass to polish my car's windscreen, and it certainly made a difference but was laborious, and would have worked better I think with a rotary rather than dual-action polisher.

I've not seen anyone offer such a service professionally, but surely it has to be a better option to refresh glass than replacement, with all the associated issues of sealing etc? I envisage that light dustings of chips and scratches could be removed/improved, along with proper chip repair.

Anyone ever tried anything similar, or aware of what Tolman might have used?

I'd imagine any decent detailer would have the kit/capability?

I saw this done on a Drew Pratchard programme.

The guy specialised in polishing defects out of windsreens and that's all he did - sorry can't recall the firm but the process did look quite skilled.

I’m fairly sure I’ve seen car detailers offer this service.

Rule of thumb:

Small scuff or scratch = possible.

Wear and tear from surface pitting or wiper marks = much lesser chance of success.

Much depends on the surface area to be polished and/or depth of scratch/scuff.
