Low(ish) annual mileage, what to avoid?

If my average daily mileage is around ~10, annually being between 4000-5000, what type of cars should I be looking at, or rather avoiding?

For context, I’ve always leased for peace of mind, however I’m struggling to justify it now for the time I spend in the car. Will also be nice to not see a monthly payment leave my account.

Have a budget of around £7-8K for something suitable for short commute to work and everyday family activities. That being said, look towards a petrol with >100K mileage?

get the smallest, naturally aspirated petrol engine you can. check its been serviced properly and it'll likely run forever.

Avoid a diesel, perhaps buy something with a higher than average mileage for a lower than average price, turn it into a low/average miles car in a few years?
