private plate transfer went though - not showing on mot /tax

did a private plate transfer this morning , got a confirmation email to go ahead and fit the plates

thought i would check mot /insurance/tax status and all showing unknown , dont feel comfortable driving it like that, might it update later or what ?

and yes ive called the insurance and got a email stating its swapped to that rego

Will take a few days to update i expect. If you are nervous, just print out the transfer doc to show to BIB if you get pulled.

Usually takes a few days but either print off as suggested or carry your phone with the emails to show them in the ( very very ) unlikely position of being stopped.

I've done loads of these. Never had a single issue. Don't worry about it.

When I swapped a plate over last year, it took 10 days for it to show up on AskMID. Sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up on the online checker tools too.

Provided you've got your email confirmation from DVLA that you can swap the plates over (which you have), you're good to go.

Usually it will show within 1-2 hours, sometimes it takes overnight to update and every so often it can take up to 2 weeks.

Just keep hold of that transfer email
