Define 'camper'

DVLA say a camper MUST have,
Windows in the side and rear
Fixed sleeping accomodation
fixed cooking/washing facilities
clothes storage

Insurance companies are far more relaxed!

I do this quite a lot for cars of dubious appearance too. Bear in mind that the owner may not have told the full truth to DVLA after a conversion. There are many classics converted to be an EV for example that are still recorded as having an engine fitted, so that they can maintain MoT exemption as well as £0 VED.

Commercial vehicle VED is a bit of a minefield though with different bands by Euro emission status, engine size and even flat rates depending on age. Full list of all VED charges here:
