Scrapping a non runner

Will local scrappers generally come and collect a non runner?

Or a webuyanycar type company?

Probably not worth that much so couldn’t afford for the collection process to be too expensive or ill be left with nothing

Yes. Make some calls, someone will come and scoop it up.

Yes, done it a couple of times on FB. Just put it as a non-runner.
WBAC will take it if you can get it to their sheds.

Years ago I wanted to dispose of a stripped MG Maestro so I pushed it down the road to the local Fire Station so they could practise cutting roofs off!

Last time I did it (prob 2021) I got a couple of hundred quid and they arrived promptly and collected.

When I enquired with the driver, he said that all they're really interested in was the cat and the battery, and the rest got squished & sent to China. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but it's what I was told.

Provided your car is roughly still car shaped, and has the majority of car bits still attached to it, you'll get a bit of money for it (and have it collected). I've even had people happy to lift the bodyshells of cars I've stripped (no engine, no gearbox, no suspension, etc.) for free ... so the value of even a bare shell is obviously worth their time, as they aren't a charity!

Yes -just give local scrappy a ring and they will pick up , give you some money and probably a form to keep.
I assume not taxed anyway but if it is then get that removed first.

There are scrapmycar/removemy car comparison websites and the companies provide quotes on how much they will give you.

It's depressing, really - the alloys on one scrap car were in pretty decent condition and the collector whacked them with a sledgehammer because the brakes had seized. He could have got £100 just for the alloys. I guess the cat must give them that much money that they don't care!?
