Driving license renewal help

Hi , I have just received my reminder that my license is due to expire soon, I have read that it can be done online or at the post office .I checked my passport and that expired December 2023 so I thought i couldn’t use it however I spotted this on a google search on renewing your license and found this albeit not on the Gov website just the top result when I searched

your driving licence
your UK passport (either current or expired within the past 12 months)
to be a resident of Great Britain - there’s a different process in Northern Ireland
to not be banned from driving


ISo according to this I can use my passport to do it online, I know I can pop down to a post office and pay a bit more but due to a knee operation I am limited at the moment…I also would have thought that the official Gov website would have mentioned that you can use a passport that’s expired within 12 months….The website is Renewmylicence.com
