Mission Motorsport charity raffle announced

We are excited to once again be supporting Mission Motorsport at this year’s Annual Service. But you don’t have to attend to show your support for such a great cause.

The Mission Motorsport ethos is simple: to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military service by providing opportunities through motorsport. While it might sound like a lot of fun, there's also a serious side, helping those traumatised by injuries both physical and mental follow their own personal journeys to rebuilding their lives.

The team led by long-standing PHer James Cameron, better known to some as Tankslider, providing vocational support for wounded servicemen with training and qualifications to return to work. They have helped more than 1,000 veterans find employment in the automotive sector since their inception.

We have some fantastic prizes to be won this year – with special thanks to our prize donors. These are:

To enter, text PISTON to 70215 and then follow the instructions on the text message you receive back to donate £2 for one entry, £10 for five entries or £20 for ten entries.

Thank you for flagging - I've sent to Mission Motorsport so they can look into it.

As entry to the raffle is effectively free, as there is no obligation to make the suggested donation then, whilst purchase of a raffle ticket is absolutely not able to be gift aided, this is not actually the purchase of the ticket but a donation with which you get the free raffle ticket so is able to be gift aided.

Certainly convoluted but is the generally accepted method of getting gift aid in such circumstances.

I tried to enter this raffle today (16/08) after receiving an email this morning from pistonheads, promoting it, by texting PISTON to 70215 and received this message back..

"This raffle has now closed or not yet started"

What does this mean?! Have I been charged?!

Very frustrating...
