Facelifts that made the car look worse

I saw a new Jaguar F-Type yesterday which had me thinking about facelifts, usually the cars look better, but sometimes they look worse (especially if it some old model tarted up to fit in with a new 'design language').

New F-type, dull and generic:

Fiat Multipla, the original might appear on all the lazy 'ugliest car' lists, but the facelift turned it into something you'd not give a second look:

Disagree about the F-type - for me neither is perfect, but I prefer the sleek look of the facelift.

911s evolve rather than radically change so the 911.2 to 992 GT3 generation change is accepted more of a 'facelift' and a bad one at that having lost its 911 identity especially to the rear.

Haven't got photos to back this up, but basically every mini facelift (or new model) since about 2012 has been a retrograde step, aesthetically IMHO.

Think he perhaps means 992.1 to 991.2? The 992 is not a facelift of a 991 it's a new model.

981 to 718 however is clearly a facelift - but looks better, then they took away the flat 6 USP

Yes I agree B as you know I have owned both btw (911 GT3s) and whilst the 992 is clearly a new generation the steady evolution of the 911 means it is actually more of a facelift as posted and apart from increased aero and dw front very little has changed not least the engine which was carried over but with the very minor change of itbs.

Disagree with this, the Facelifted E46 looks a lot more modern and sharp.

For me I think the DC5 looked rubbish after its facelift.
