The Festival of Speed may be behind us, but Goodwood has plenty more in store for the motoring diehard. The Revival weekend (6th - 8th September) is just around the corner, bringing together an eclectic mix of iconic racing machines from all eras and some of the greatest racing drivers to walk the earth, many of whom will be hustling classics worth multiple millions of pounds around Goodwood circuit as if it were any other race weekend. If there’s any event you attend in person this year, the Revival should absolutely be your top choice. So why not do it in style by treating yourself to some top-flight hospitality?

What’s always been great about the Revival is how close you can get to the incredible cars and legendary drivers - but sometimes you just want to kick back, relax and find a nice quiet spot away from the roar of engines and screaming of tyres. That’s where The Barracks comes in. The private space includes a brunch buffet, afternoon scones and cakes (plus unlimited tea, coffee and juice to wash it down with), as well as a garden area to soak up some of the late summer sun to the backing track of historic race engines at full chat in the distance. It’s situated nice and close to the circuit, too, with easy access to viewing areas along the Lavant Straight and Woodcote Corner.

For something a touch more secluded, there’s The Putting Green. Situated just a few minutes from the track action, The Putting Green is a beautifully canopied area at The Kennels, one of Goodwood’s members’ clubs, and serves as a relaxing spot to enjoy the brunch buffet, afternoon tea and (get this) unlimited house wine, beer and soft drinks. Private parking is also included, as well as roving grandstand access, allowing you to find the perfect spot to settle in for a great day of racing.

If you’re feeling particularly lavish, you’ll want to check out The Goodwood Mess. Located right on the start/finish straight for sensational track viewing, The Mess welcomes you with breakfast and a Champagne reception, a chef’s table lunch, afternoon tea and unlimited house wine, beer and soft drinks to be enjoyed throughout the day. Guests also benefit from a private garden to soak up the sunshine, paddock passes, and access to the banked viewing area right on the inside of the main straight. The only way for a more immersive Revival experience is to jump into one of the cars.

As ever, there’s a huge amount to see and do. This year’s event will celebrate the late John Surtees, the only person to have won world titles on two and four wheels, on what would have been the 60th anniversary of his championship-winning year in Formula 1 in 1964. Expect an array of machines from across Surtees’ decorated career, including a mix of motorcycles from his many championship years on two wheels, as well as Grand Prix-winning cars, unlimited Can Am monsters and jaw-droppingly beautiful GTs.

It’ll also be the first historic motorsport event run entirely on sustainable fuel. All competitors will be required to use fuel containing a minimum of 70 per cent ‘advanced sustainable components’, which needs no modifications to run. That means the usual symphony of cylinders the Revival never fails to deliver, only with a drastically smaller carbon footprint.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg of what’s is arguably the most unique event in the motorsport calendar. And because it’s one of the last of the summer, it’s surely worth doing in style with hospitality access. Prices start at £318 per person for The Barracks, rising to £510 and £684 for The Putting Green and The Mess respectively. Tickets are running out fast, so be sure to grab yours before they sell out. Oh, and don’t forget to pick up a retro outfit for the day…

Sums up the reason I won't go to any events there. I expect 95% of the attendees to this poncy farce have never been to Brands Hatch let alone Lydden or Shelsley Walsh! They can also keep their replicas/hot rod racing as well and I haven't a clue how they get away with the lack of spectator safety around the circuit.

What is the collective noun for people with a chip on their shoulder?
People were paying considerably more than any of those for a single ticket to a world cup football game.
This is a whole day of fabulous and very varied entertainment.
If it is not for you then fine, if you choose not to spend your hard earned on it fine, but realy just being puerile.

I haven’t been to any of the tracks you’ve listed. And probably quite a lot of PHers haven’t.

These prices are for hospitality so of course more expensive as the main event has sold out. There’s many things wrong with how Goodwood is run but the general admission tickets are good value for what you get.

Hospitality packages at Blue Chip events are expensive - gosh I am shocked. No, I really am. Honest guv.

I suggest those whingeing don’t look at prices for A list gigs, concerts and other stuff that “ordinary” ppl go to. Hell, I believe even Sir Fergie had a thing or two to say about eating prawn sandwiches at one of his football matches back in the day…

I can't think of a better way. No different to trying to run a pub and dissuade a certain type from using it.

I can't afford to stay at Claridges but Travelodges are available and as others have said, try looking at the prices for any high profile event. This is a world leading one.

Is it expensive? No

If the price of this upsets people so much, they should look at how much other Sporting Event Hospitality tickets cost, and most of those events are over in 90 mins
