I have just renewal offers for my two cars. Big, well known insurance company.

One is up by just under 1% - well that's not bad, is it?
The other one is down by 16% - what's going on?

Both cars are small boring saloons.

I thought all premiums were going through the roof?

Similar to us.

I recently asked for a quote on an EV I was considering, that was so ridiculous it'd wipe out any fuel saving.

My daughter's doubled, for absolutely no reason; no claims, no points, now lives in a better area, they also wanted to double the excess.

The wife's has increased by 6%.

My renewal quote came through from Ageas. Down eight quid to £296 which was a pleasant surprise.

My 440i renewal came through last week with a ~12% reduction. I guess the market re-stabilised.

Fingers crossed for the Model 3 renewal in March.

Son (23) was with Hastings for two years, no claims, nothing. Letter through the post saying they won't be able to insure this coming year!!!

Went online and insured for £600; £100 less than last year.

Mate (49, max no claims, rural location, private road) has new X5 and just been quoted £1500.

Madness!!

I have house & 2 cars on Admiral multi insurance (£1050).
I have a new Ev arriving in Sept, called them to ask how much to add it to the policy, in addition to the existing.
6 months left on the multi cover.

Was sitting down in readiness for the price - £108 for 6 months!, fully comp/protected/legal cover

Been sorting out insurance on my BMW M4 in the last week, last year I paid £1500. It was a new car to me and I had to take the hit of insuring it quickly. Renewal came through at £1800, I shopped around and got it down to £950 with Hastings Direct.

For reference I’m 43 with full NCD, no points and no claims

And just got it down 22% less than the renewal, took RAC off as now have it through my bank, and played hardball.
