It's harvest time!

Following a tractor and trailer loaded with about a dozen round bales today. Rather, that's how many he started with. Over the course of several miles of different A roads (and including one roundabout) he managed to shed at least five of these in the road!

After the roundabout I moved to the right and tried flashing him up, but he was totally oblivious to the chaos behind him. Didn't want to get too close as those things are heavy. Finally, he shed two going round a corner, which almost totally blocked the road. At this point I gave up, turned round and called 101.

If the local plod round here prosecuted a farmer every time they drove carelessly, inconsiderately, drove dangerously with the forks on their telehandlers somewhere between head and chest height or spread mud on the roads creating a hazard all the farmers would be banned inside a couple of weeks and the country would soon starve.

My farming mate sounds his horn while driving around blind bends without slowing down. His Dad did it, his Dad’s Dad did it…..bends that everyone else crawls around at 10mph he takes at 30.

To be fair he’s only crashed twice - ironically one of those crashes was into another farmer who hadn’t slowed down for the bends.
