I lost count at 80-odd years ago.

But a lot of those were bought at auction in the week, taxed on the green slip, and up for sale by the weekend to try and make a bit of pocket money. When you could do that sort of thing.

Highlights;

Peugeot 205 Roland Garros
Mk2 Volkswagen Golf GTI 8v
Peugeot 405 GRDT
Fiesta 1.4 LX cc
Mazda 626 1.8 saloon
Eunos Roadster V-Spec x 2
Alfa Romeo 1.8 TS
Volkswagen Bora 2.0 SE
Renault Clio 1.2
Mk3 Volkswagen Golf GTI 8v
Mk3 Volkswagen Golf VR6
Volkswagen Bora TDi 130 PD
Peugeot 206 Dturbo 2.0 HDi
Mazda 6 diesel estate
Honda CRV 2.0 VTEC
Skoda Octavia 1.6 estate
Mazda NC MX5 2.0
Volkswagen Tiguan Match
Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE
Honda Civic Dtec tourer (current)
Porsche 986 Boxster S (current)

That's all the stuff actually registered in mine or Mrs T's name or leased for 2 years in the case of the Tig and 3 years in the case of the Disco Sport.

I was most active trading in the noughties so there's a whole host of bread and butter stuff missing from that list. A couple of 106 diesels, a couple of Mk4 Fiestas, a Laguna estate, a ZX diesel hatch, a 306 Dturbo, Rover 620ti, Freelander 1.8 . . . there's still some I've missed.

In hindsight, I wish I'd spent my 20s just buying more interesting stuff and sticking with it!

Didn't think to add my DT50MX.

Had a Puch Maxi that my Uncle gave me before that. But it dawned on me as I approached 16 that I didn't want to be seen at school on it so worked all Summer post-GCSEs and bought the DT!

Ford Focus Mark1 Ghia - lots of mods done to this.
Alfa GTV TS Phase 2
Alfa 156 2.0 TS Veloce - Original version with daft rear spoiler.
Alfa GT 1.9 JTD - Lovely to look at but my worst Alfa experience by miles - a rusty heap with bad electrics basically - put me off for a bit.

I currently own half of all the cars I've ever owned.

Ten cars owned across 23 years of car ownership and nearly 30 years of driving, five of them owned now.

In summary, I used to buy fairly boring cars and keep them for a long time, then I started buying more interesting ones and around the same time seem to have lost the ability to sell them.

Rover 216
Seat Toledo TDi 150
Toyota Avensis estate T180
BMW 550i
E63 estate*
BMW 330Ci convertible*
BMW 330Ci convertible*
Audi TT 225
BMW 640d*
Audi TT 225*

(*still own)

That's it. Actually only 8 different cars. Slight German bias.
