Hello all

A couple (2/3?) years ago I came across on Amazon a car seat which had just the back of the seat, meaning, it has no base but the back attached to the isofix anchor points. At the time it would be premature, but today this would suit me well as my soon is taller (145) but could still benefit from better lateral adjustment to his skinny body and protection for a not that strong neck, without starting to touch the roof.

Problem is: I could not find it again, regardless of how hard I searched, including a go with copilot.

Does anyone here happen to know what I am referring to and where to buy? (I am based in Switzerland so online options probably better but any guidance I am taking…).

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the answer but not really. Imagine that without a seat base, just the back, and still held by Isofix? Its sort of a weird thing to think of but I feel it would be brilliant for not spacious cars and tall kids which still need neck support.

I can visualise what you want but don't think it will give anything like the protection you think. Firstly the seat won't move with the body. Also pushing the body forwards mat give a bad fit for the seat belt. At 145 there are still plenty of proper high back boosters that give the protection you want, some expandable width ways too.

Does it fall under the child protection car cushion searches?

Do agree with above that I wouldn’t take any risks in this area with the state of driving now.
