This can't be right can it????

A friend who has ridden motorbikes continuously for 40 years, no claims throughout that time and insurance held continuously has two bikes insured with BikeSure (Bike A and Bike B).

After 4 years he has decided to go elsewhere BUT BikeSure will only confirm 4 years NCD and only on one bike (Bike A) leaving Bike B with zero years NCD.

This makes insurance from other companies far more expensive than it should be.

This can't be right can it? For all my car insurance that I have ever had the NCD with the current insurer adds to that from previous insurers.

My friends new insurer will only recognise the 4 years NCD on one bike and nothing on the other. IS there any central insurance bureau he could go to to get a certificate saying like "Insured continuously for X years with no claims"?

Many thanks.

Was bike B on a classic type bike policy. Classic car and bike policies often aren't subject to NCB

It was a multibike policy BUT Bike B is a Royal Enfield (Indian manufacture not British) so not really classic?

Arguably they're trying to encourage your friend to just get a decent bike. laugh
