Need help finding insurance

Hi,
I am becoming absolutely hopeless trying to find insurance for my next car, any advice is appreciated.
I am 19 years old and in the market for an F82 M4, circa 2015 with roughly 40k miles. Please do not lecture me on the dangers of car finance at a young age, I am not financing.
Any specialists I try may as well tell me to get f*cked... Adrian flux: 17k. Majority of other specialists won't touch me as I'm not 21 / 23 or whatever their age requirement may be.
The average comparison site quote comes out at 9-15k, the cheapest quote I got was on an 18 plate which came back at 3.7k. Anything sub 4k is fine for me, but the 18 plate car wasn't a desired spec so that doesn't match.
Once again, any help is appreciated.
Thinking I might have to wait until March next year when I've got 3 years no claims... or get into the market for an m140i.

If you can cash buy an M4, and afford £4k pa for insurance, then perhaps broaden your horizons. M Cars and notoriously hard for young (and sometimes older) people to insure. The likes of Greenlight refused to insure BMW's last time I checked.
Some times more niche cars within the same performance bracket can be easier to insure, so worth shopping about unless you are hell bent on the M4.

I think I need his financial advice .. in a few short weeks to go from not being able to afford a tyre to buying an M4 cash and being prepared to pay £4k insurance is really quite remarkable

Not sure why it's difficult for people to understand the difference between being able to "afford" something, and "wanting" to purchase something. If I can spend £400 on tyres and be fine with that, whats the need to spend £800? TypicalBMWdriver for Chancellor perhaps ?
I could afford top-end tyres for sure, but what ever happened to looking for value for money?

It's been said on here many times before, but why on earth would you (or anyone) skimp on the one thing that attaches your car to the road?I could afford top-end tyres for sure, but what ever happened to looking for value for money?

The importance of tyre quality increases with the potential speed of the vehicle too I would think so on an M4, maybe get used to not focusing too much on value for money.

Respectfully, what are you expecting? You are 19, which means you have at most 2 and a bit years of road driving experience, and are trying to insure what is ostensibly a high performance vehicle with a certain target demographic which means it comes with a high amount of risk to insurers. The unfortunate fact here is that even though you might be able to buy the metal for cash, if you cant cover the insurance, maintenance, fuel, servicing, etc - you cant afford the car.
If you have all that cash burning a hole in your pocket, there is a variety of interesting stuff you can pick up for a year or two to build no claims with, and you can leave the rest of it to accrue interest until the insurance is a bit more reasonable.
You can pick up a Cayman, insure it, run it, and have a kitty for anything that comes up on it and still have 10k left over for example.
Also, do yourself a favour and buy proper tyres. They are expensive and it is annoying but they are a literal lifesaver, and if you care about the actual act of driving, good tyres completely transform your experience.

If your planning on on putting on a £400 set of tyres on an M4 then the M4 is not for you, there is a reason these type of vehicles use specifiic OE tyres. TBH many years ago i used the cheapest chinese tyres on the back of my M3 as i was getting through the rears in 3 months. The last set of run flats cost me £1400 but that is the joy of driving a car you want

Because your car is only as good as the tyre on each corner.Negotiate £2000 off the car you ultimately buy and you can pay £1000 a year extra in insurance.
It’s just math, and people have been doing the same for many years when negotiating the price of cars registered with a 56 plate , compared to identical cars registered with a 55 plate and significantly lower VED.

Realistically you're trying to insure a car with the same levels of performance as a Ferrari F430 at 19.... You're either going to have to compromise (the 2018 model) or suck it up and pay the premium. To get around the insurance issue but satisfy the need for something fast I ended up with a motorbike and V8 Jag.
You pretty much have the full list of things against you. M cars are expensive to insure (even for older drivers, a 911,V12 Vantage, F430 etc is cheaper for me to insure vs a BMW M3), you're young, and possibly living in a high risk postcode?

As an F82 M4 owner myself over double the age of the OP I can tell you that anyone on the owners groups will tell you they are a hard car to insure even when like me you have double figures NCD, a clean licence and live in an average postcode.
My first years premium was £1500 and i was 43 at the time, now its about £800 but that's not really relevant to the OP, the owners groups are full of people selling their car's because of the premiums, even on renewal.
Honestly OP I would suggest looking at a different car in your position.
