Old car MOT/Tax not available

Hello, the MOT for a car i sold last came up and I just wanted to see how it went. Search the reg and it says no data can be found. It's definitely the right reg, got receipts and things in emails with it on.
What's the most likely thing to have happened, scrapped? Private plate?
I feel bad that it might have not have lasted even a year, being a 17 year old Lexus hybrid if something did go wrong it wouldn't have been financially worth fixing. I might have got lucky having no issues in 3 years.
