Do insurance companies always declare cat s
Discussion
Hi. Quick one
I know cars they aren’t claimed on or are repaired privately don’t go on the register
But is there ever a scenario where a car is written off,
Insurance pay out, it gos to salvage and it’s not declared ?
I’m thinking that they’ll get more for it as salvage if it’s not declared?
Does this ever happen?

You get write offs like a cat s etc and you get undeclared salvage cars.
Undeclared salvage are obviously cheap as they are smashed in, and then repaired and back on the road often in a worse state of accident damage than a cat S or N would be IMO.
A lot of stolen car parts get used on these undeclared cars.

But do insurers knowingly send the odd car to salvage and it not declared so they’ll get more for it from time to time ?Undeclared salvage are obviously cheap as they are smashed in, and then repaired and back on the road often in a worse state of accident damage than a cat S or N would be IMO.
