This was my first time back in about 15 years. Drove down in my Alfa SZ which despite having AC, also has a supplementary car heater from the matt grey roof which
works especially well when stuck in traffic baking under the hot sun!

Although the race wasn't as dramatic as some (lack of rain?), it was intriguing and unbelievably tight at the front. Wonderful result for Kubica in the Ferrari also the Valkirie although off the pace looked and sounded magnificent., with the Cadilac, Merc and Aston Vantages not far behind. Also the fan support for drivers when having problems is fantastic and a contrast to what is going on in F1.

The interesting thing for me was the change in the vibe. The village area is now way more corporate and for me has lost a bit of its previous slightly chaotic charm and Arnarge (which always was car chaos) now has the feel of a slightly dodgy car meet in a deserted supermarket car park.

Pleased I went and a great weekend, but for me it will be the Classic from now on. Maybe its an age thing!

Think I saw your car driving through the car park. Can’t have been many SZs there!

We stayed at the Porsche curves and it was our first time at Le Mans. Had a great time and managed to fit in a lot.

So much to see and its great having more time to move around the track vs an F1 race. We had stand tickets but general access is excellent I thought too.
