I have had a few cars with wireless charging and used many more. In almost every case, they overheat the phone within a few minutes and sometimes make it completely unusable, preventing maps and other apps from working.

Would it not have been a basic design criteria to have a vent aiming at the area where the wireless charging is installed, in order to keep the phone cool?

What if you're trying to heat the car? Now you need a separated cooling circuit...

Not sure I understand that - most cars can provide hot air to one vent and cold air to another nowadays, it's not exactly a challenging design change.

But if both/all zones want warm air...

Some cars have a cooling pad built in, including hands

It’s still a pointless gimmick, unreliable and annoying, just plug it in

We are talking about an incredible easy issue to address here.

Most glove boxes have a cold air feature in them now, just redirect that over the wireless phone area.
