Wife decided she wanted to view a house in Cornwall yesterday (after breakfast) - resulted in a 650 return trip.

What I noticed (or should I say not noticed) there was not one set of roadworks on ~600 miles of Motorway (and A road driving). Managed to largely crack on.

There was one period driving back on the M5 near B’Ham where the matrix signs signalled 2 lanes closed (by the time we got to the front, it was a false alarm - although plenty of angry motorists).

Did our bit to keep the U.K. bugs under control.
Trip was worth it, for sea veiws.

Because every cone in the uk is clogging up various sections of the M20, M25 and M3? At least that’s my perception from our 3-4 trips from the Netherlands to Surrey (and usually also Somerset) every year.

Black Cat on the A1 is still a mess and will be to 2027/2028, there are yellow signs saying that their working hours are 9-5:30 Mon-Fri!

They're on the M27 while they resurface it.

You know, the resurfacing that they could have done at the same time as turning it into a Smart motorway for the past 3 years.

Even when the workers are there, I've never seen them actually working. Must be paid by the hour

Drove through there last weekend. Astonishingly feckless planning.

Which is going to over run on both budget and time.

It's a right PITA. redface

They're also closing the M3 between J3 and J4 over the weekend of 13/14 July to replace a footbridge.

That won't bother me as I live a couple of miles from J3 and only tend to use it between J2 and J4. smile

One of my friends is heavily involved in the project. Rest assured me and the rest of my friends have given him 'honest and open feedback' throughout the project. Mainly whilst sat in a queue there! Traffic issues have been worse since they started it than they ever were before.
